Between school starting up again, approaching end of year deadlines at work, and everything in between, we’ve all got our noses back to the grindstone now that the summer is over.
For those of you that are lamenting the end of those summer days and nights (I know I am), the fall can feel a bit chaotic as we transition between the summer and winter seasons.
This is why it’s crucial to set intentions for the fall season, as they can provide a means of anchoring us to what’s most important in our lives, especially as we approach the busiest time of the year.

Intentions are powerful in more ways than one. They help us to manifest what we want to do, and are a positive call to action for what we truly desire in our lives.
This autumn season, follow these intentions to stay grounded, focused, and in the moment.
5 Powerful Intentions You Should Set For This Fall
1. I will take time to rest. For many of us, the summer was a whirlwind. From traveling, to seeing family and friends, to meeting deadlines at work, it may have felt like the summer months were a blur. This is why autumn is such an ideal time to rest. You’re in between two very busy seasons: the summer and holiday seasons. Take extra time to rest, whether it’s going to bed earlier, taking naps on the weekend, or just lazily reading a book whenever you can.
2. I will slow down and savor the moment (and everything pumpkin spice). All too often we contribute to the chaos that’s already in our lives, rather than just enjoying the moment. We may try to plow through our bucket lists, our to-do lists, and try to accomplish everything at once, rather than simply living in the moment. This fall however, strive to slow things down and savor the moment. Try to not multitask, and dedicate your attention to only one activity at a time.
3. I will find ways to be grateful. An attitude of gratitude can make all the difference in our lives, especially when we’re under a lot of stress and/or overworked. This fall, shift your mindset a bit by taking time to note five things you’re grateful for every day. It doesn’t need to be complex. It could be as straightforward as your job that pays the bills, or the roof over your head, or the rewarding relationships you have in your life. Take stock of what you already have this autumn season, and be grateful for where you are.
4. I will focus on the wins—however small. It can be difficult to appreciate the efforts we’ve already made towards our goals, especially if we’re just not quite there to where we want to be. This fall though, appreciate how hard you’ve worked, and the steps you’ve taken to reach your goals—even if you haven’t fully reached them.

5. I will nurture my relationships. The people we’re closest to are often those that we tend to take for granted. We may not fully appreciate how much they help us through the harder times, or how they lift us when we’re down. This autumn, strive to show appreciation for those you’re closest to, and find ways to invest in those relationships. It could be as simple as treating your friend to coffee, stopping by to see a family member, or sending a note to a friend that you haven’t seen in a while. Take the time to appreciate these relationships, especially before the whirlwind of the holiday season.
